Experts have recorded an increase in the number of outbreaks of ASF in Europe

According to the Animal Disease Notification System (ADNS-ADIS), in the 1st quarter of 2021, 7429 cases of ASF were detected among wild boars, last year there were 7144. Among domestic pigs, the number of ASF diseases in the 1st half of 2021 reached 526. last year there were 346 of them.

For the first time, ASF in domestic pigs was recorded in Germany, writes TASS with reference to the DPA agency. The outbreak was found on the federal state of Bradenburg on the border with Poland on a farm for 200 heads. All livestock will be destroyed, and the territory of nearby farms will be monitored by regulatory agencies.

The epizootic situation in Slovakia has worsened, where 1194 cases of ASF were detected in the wild boar population, while in the first half of 2020 there were only 125 of them. But at the same time, only one case was detected among the domestic livestock over the past six months.

Slovakia had the status of an ASF-free country until July 25, 2019, until the veterinary services confirmed an outbreak in a private backyard on the border with Hungary and 20 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
