The ASF outbreak is found in the Novgorod region

African swine fever was detected at LLC NovSvin, located in the Ermolino village, Novgorod Region.

Specialists from the Novgorod Regional Veterinary Laboratory discovered the DNA of the virus in the tissues of a dead animal. The Federal Research Center for Virology and Microbiology (Pokrov, Vladimir Region) confirmed the presence of the virus.

Quarantine has been introduced in the area where the disease has been detected. Specialists of veterinary services have begun measures to eliminate the outbreak and prevent the spread of the virus.

Presumably, the virus was transferred to the farm from a natural source.
