EEC has established tariff quotas for certain types of agricultural goods imported into the EAEU for the year 2020

The EEC Board has established tariff quotas as well as tariff quota volumes for certain types of agricultural goods imported into the EAEU for the year 2020. Hence, the following quota volumes are allowed for Belarus in the coming year: pork - 20 ths tons, boned domestic chicken meat - 10 ths tons and boned turkey meat - 0.9 ths tons. For Kazakhstan, quota volumes in respect of cattle meat will be set at 21 ths tons, and those in respect of poultry meat – at 140 ths tons. For Kyrgyzstan, a quota in respect of cattle meat will amount to 5 ths tons, in respect of pork – to 3.5 ths tons, and in respect of poultry meat – to 58 ths tons. For Russia, quota volumes in respect of cattle meat are contemplated at 570 ths tons, in respect of poultry meat – at 364 ths tons, and in respect of milk whey – at 15 ths tons. Armenia has informed about no need for establishing tariff quotas for the year 2020.

At the same time, the EEC Board’s decision stipulates that the Member States will distribute tariff quota volumes between the participants of foreign trade activities in accordance with national legislation. Their authorized authorities will issue licenses for the importation of products within the established tariff quotas. Russia will distribute tariff quota volumes between third countries in accordance with national legislation and its obligations within the WTO.

It is allowed to import agricultural products from third countries within the established tariff quotas at lower rates of import customs duties as against the rates of the Common Customs Tariff.
