A hog production company from Tyumen will pay more than 58 million rubles to the regional government

By decision of the Tyumen Oblast Arbitration Court, OOO Kompleks, a hog production company, will pay 58 million 943 thousand rubles as compensation for government spending on quarantine measures related to the outbreak of African swine fever. A lawsuit against the company was filed in December last year by the regional government.

The Arbitration Court of the Tyumen Regional Court ruled LLC Complex to pay AFS

The ASF virus on the farm was discovered in November 2017. Then 200 animals died. The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert accused the regional veterinary department of hiding data on the death of pigs.

As a result of the elimination of the outbreak, 17 thousand pigs were killed, including animals from private farms. Vasily Postnikov, Director General of OOO Complex, was accused of the incident, but later a veterinarian was found guilty, hiding the cause of the death of animals.

The company claimed compensation in the amount of 100 million rubles for the destruction of a herd of pigs, but the company was not included in the register of claims by decision of the head of the Tyumen region veterinary department Vadim Schulz.
