Pig production in Russia has grown

From January to September 2019, production of pigs for slaughter in live weight in Russia amounted to 3.55 million tons.

Compared to the same period in 2018, production increased by 4.7% or by 157.9 thousand tons.

The main increase in production was provided by agricultural producers in the Pskov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk regions and the Krasnodar Territory.

Pork export also increased, and amounted to 31.6 thousand tons over the 9 months of 2019 (taking into account the EAEU countries). This is 43.5% more than for the same period in 2018.
