Belarus has temporarily restricted pork imports from Hungary because of the African swine fever (ASF)

BelTA learned from the website of the Veterinary and Food Control Department of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

According to the information of the International Epizootic Bureau, a new case of ASF has been registered on the territory of the copper of Heves in Hungary.

In this context, Belarus has introduced temporary restrictions on the import of swine, pork and processing products, leather, horns and hoofs, raw casings, hog hair, meat of wild boars, hunter's trophies, etc. from Hungary. Belarus also cancels all previous permits on the import of abovementioned products from Hungary.

According to the Veterinary and Food Control Department, it is essential to take additional measures to ensure the biological protection of large swine breeding complexes and farms of all forms of ownership.
