Azerbaijan imposed a temporary ban on the import of meat products due to epizootic outbreaks

As reported on the website of IA Sputnik, the Food Security Agency of Azerbaijan introduced a temporary ban on imports into the country of live pigs, sheep, chickens and products of these types of livestock from Russia, France, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia.

The Food Security Agency (FCA) of Azerbaijan imposed a temporary ban on imports of live sheep, as well as livestock products from the Ivanovo region of Russia due to smallpox disease found in small cattle.

Meanwhile, according to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) the Porcine Pseudo-rabies disease was found in the French region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. And highly pathogenic avian influenza was revealed in the cities of Haskovo in Bulgaria, Timisoara - in Romania, Bratislava - in Slovakia.

Taking into account the special epidemiological situation, the Azerbaijani FCA imposed a temporary ban on the import of live pigs and pig products from the infected region of France, as well as on imports of live birds and poultry products from Bulgaria, Romania and Slovakia.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan is informed of the FCA decision and will take appropriate measures with regard to transport from the above localities which is arriving in the country or transiting through the territory of Azerbaijan.
