The expert warned about the rise in price of meat in Ukraine

Soon, chicken, pork, beef and veal will rise in price in Ukraine. Experts have already said that the reason for the rise in the cost of meat was the increase in prices for wheat and feed. For the same reason, eggs and dairy products continue to rise in price.

According to the director of the Association of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine Oleksandr Bakumenko, 70% of the cost of meat depends on the price of compound feed. “This year, for the first time in 20 years in Ukraine, it happened that the first two months the poultry farmers worked with zero profitability. It is worth considering that at the same time, the livestock was reduced by as much as 20%. During this time, two egg factories were closed,” said Bakumenko. According to him, in a short time, the production of poultry meat decreased by 6%, and such a situation has emerged for the first time in the past two decades.

As noted by other experts, in the coming weeks, prices for beef and pork may remain at the current level, but they will not decline. Analysts recalled that over the past year, chicken legs have risen in price by 70%, and chicken fillets by 50%, and this trend will continue.
