Meat export from Russia increased

Within the first three months of this year, poultry meat export growth increased by 46%, and beef export growth increased by 74% compared to the same period in 2021. Pork exports continue to decline starting from the second half of 2021. According to the results of January-March 2022, it fell by 42%, Yuri Kovalev noted at the Compound Feed-2022 conference.

As expected, at the beginning of 2022, the decline in pork exports from the Russian Federation continues. The main reason is the recovery of production in Vietnam and China. Prices have come down drastically. In Russia prices remained high. Naturally, private business began to supply more products to the domestic market.

Among other reasons that reduce the volume of exports, the expert names logistical problems associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

The export of mutton for the first three months decreased by 13% compared to the same period last year. «However, poultry meat and beef have become drivers of growth in the total volume of meat exports from the country, which increased by 9% and amounted to 122.1 thousand tons,» Yury Kovalev summed up.
