Pork production in Ukraine increased by 8% in 7 months of 2021

It is noted that for 7 months the output of chilled, frozen pork, as well as smoked and salted products from it, increased by 8.2% or 14 thousand tons. According to the report, the basis for such a positive change was "laid" by an increase in the production of chilled pork by 6% due to the overwhelming share of such products in the processing structure.

In addition, additional support was provided by 43% more active freezing of pork than last year. Although it has an insignificant share in the processing structure, the gourmet group - salted, dried or smoked pork - also "added" 8.4% compared to the period under review last year.

“Thanks to this and the slower growth rates of industrial production of chilled and frozen meat, offal and fat (+ 5.4%), the share of pork in this structure increased from 18.6% in January-July 2020 to 19.5% for the same period of this year”, - the ACS analysts comment.

According to experts, the total output of meat, by-products and fat in January-July 2021 amounted to 950 thousand tons, which is 2.75% more than the revisions of the meat processing industry for the same period last year.
