The U.S. Pulled Pork Festival in Ukraine
Using the NPB and MAP funds the USMEF conducted the U.S. Pulled Pork Festival in 10 restaurants of 6 Ukrainian cities – Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kherson, Lviv, Truskavets, and Vinnitsa, from December 10 through December 25.
Bellini’s Piano Bar & Grill
Executive chef of Mirotel Alexey Dudarenko offered for the Festival species Mirotel Good Burger with the U.S. pulled pork, cowl slow salad and pepper jalapeno; Thai Corn Roll with the U.S. pulled pork, pepper balls and Thai sauce; Bruschetta with the U.S. pulled pork, white sauce BBQ, bakes with cheese Cheddar
Szkocka Restaurant & Bar
Brand-chef Bogdan Bilonizhko introduced special Festival menu: Salad with Pork (salad mix, grilled pineapple, roasted corn, beans, onion chips, and chef’s sauce), Burger “Pulled Pork” with French fries, Tacos with pork and avocado.
Offshore Pub
proposed its Burger with pulled pork, tomatoes, green salad, BBQ sauce, and country-style potatoes, as well as slow cooked pulled pork with potatoes under demi-glace sauce.
Daily DoSe
Chef Evgeniy Sushko introduced Burger with the U.S. pulled pork with kimchi cabbage and cowl slow salad, Cheese soup with the U.S. pilled pork, croutons, green oil; pizza with the U.S. pulled pork with tomato sauce, cheese Mozzarella, tomatoes, chili pepper, and scallions.
Fat Goose Pub
Chef Alexander Ubiraylov presented Festival Burger with the U.S. pulled pork, pickled jalapenos, BBQ sauce, and potato crisps, as well as the U.S. pulled pork salad with potato crisps with Cheddar cheese.
Gagarin Burger & Meat
reated Salad “Slow Piggy” and Burger “Slow Piggy” with the U.S. pulled pork and country style potatoes.
LES/Sakura
introduced Burger set with the U.S. pulled pork, the U.S. pork ham b-in smoked in tandoor, bograch - goulash with the U.S. pork, country-style pork chops with BBQ sauce, the U.S. pork spareribs with Jack Daniel’s sauce, the U.S. pork chops grilled and with mushroom julienne, Ukrainian borsch with the U.S. pork.
Churchill
created festival menu with Sandwich with pulled pork and eggs, Burrito with smoked pork, cheese and cilantro; Burger with smoked pulled pork and French fries.
Roadhouse
included into the Festival menu Tacos with the U.S. pulled pork, pulled pork with artichokes and cheese, pulled pork rolls with root vegetables and sauce tonkatsu.
John Howard Pub
offered guests Burger “Pulled Garry” and tortilla with American pulled pork, pickled cucumber, tomatoes, yoghourt, white and red cabbage.
The purpose of the U.S. Pulled Pork Festival was to introduce to the residents of Ukraine the high quality pork from the USA, to increase recognition of the U.S. pork in the market, to show new for the Ukrainian market barbecue dishes cooked low-slow in smokers and grills as part of the BBQ culture in the USA, as well as to evaluate taste and palatability of pork from the USA.
Each Festival restaurant created 2-4 meals with pulled pork, printed table tents, menu inserts, posters, placards, banners or roll-ups with the U.S. Pulled Pork Festival stamp. Each restaurant was posting information about the U.S. Pork festival menu, some of them like the Fat Goose, Gagarin Burger & Meat, Bellini’s Piano Bar & Grill, Daily DoSe, filmed footage on the festival meals cooking, some of the Festival chefs made in person presentation of the Festival meals with the U.S. pulled pork for final consumers, the restaurant guests.
