The center of ASF infection is found at Latvia

In Latvia, a hotbed of ASF infection was detected. The outbreak was recorded on the farm of Druvas Unguri, which contains more than 15 thousand animals.

The authorities of the republic plan to hold an extraordinary meeting at which issues of disease prevention will be discussed.

Work on the farm is suspended, an investigation is under way. The protection zone is defined within a radius of three kilometers, the surveillance zone is within a radius of ten. Particular attention is paid to transportation of pigs and meat products.

Agency AGRONEWS notes that the outbreak is the largest since the first detection of ASF in 2014.
