Online Grilling Workshops Promote U.S. Pork in Mexico

USMEF partnered with a pair of online cooking sites in Mexico to promote U.S. pork and introduce new recipes for the summer grilling season. Funded by Illinois Soybean and the National Pork Board, the activities with “Todo al Grill” and “Los Manes de la Parrilla” were broadcast and shared through social media platforms.

Todo al Grill – “Everything at the Grill” in English – has more than 1 million followers on Facebook and 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. USMEF’s partnership with the site will promote U.S. pork cuts through August. The content will be the basis for five educational videos developed by USMEF to promote grilling U.S. pork. Recipes featured in the videos include U.S. pork ribeye with habanero chili and pineapple, U.S. pulled pork in morita sauce, U.S. pork cowboy with poblano chili sauce and U.S. pork ham braised with beer.

A second activity – a digital workshop with Los Manes de la Parrilla – was led by “Bears in the Kitchen,” a well-known grilling club in Mexico. The live broadcast featuring U.S. pork cuts being prepared and grilled reached more than 222,000 viewers on social media.
