Strong U.S. Presence at Espacio Food Show’s Return in Chile

The Espacio Food & Service Show returned to Santiago, Chile, in late September after pandemic-influenced cancellations in 2020 and 2021. Espacio is one of the most important shows in South America and more than 25,000 attended the three-day event.

USMEF Chef Nicolas Diaz provided cooking demonstrations of U.S. beef and soy-fed pork on the show’s main stage, at USMEF’s booth and at a USMEF meet and greet reception that included 10 members, 37 importers and four USDA representatives

USMEF South America Representative Jessica Julca reports that the show, and USMEF’s meet and greet reception, facilitated excellent meetings and new introductions between U.S. suppliers and regional importers.

The show also served to introduce Sebastian Gre, USMEF’s new program coordinator in Santiago, to suppliers and buyers.

Support was provided by the Beef Checkoff Program, the National Pork Board, Indiana Soybean Alliance, the soybean checkoff program and USDA’s Agricultural Trade Promotion Program.
