Agro-Belogorye Group has insured almost a million pigs due to the ASF threat

At the pig farms of the holding of breeding type and closed cycle, 100% of the livestock are insured, and at the enterprises with the “multi-site” system - the feeding areas. The total insured amount was almost 5 billion rubles.

- Considering that the acute epizootic situation with regard to African swine fever in Russia has not been for the first year, of course, there is a need to insure the livestock of pig farms that are part of our holding. The pig-breeding division is a key sector in the production chain of the group of companies, so we must protect ourselves as much as possible from possible risks, - said Svetlana Shevtsova, Head of the Financial Control Department of GK Agro-Belogorye LLC.

In her opinion, insurance tools allow minimizing risks in case of emergencies. Insured events include illness (including ASF), fire, accidents, unlawful actions of third parties, natural disasters. The holding has been insuring the livestock of pigs at its enterprises for over 10 years.
