Government of the Russian Federation has approved tariff import quotas for beef and poultry in 2022

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved tariff quotas volumes distribution for some types of meat products in 2022 set by the Eurasian Economic Commission for Russia.

According to the decree, tariff quota volume for fresh or chilled beef meat has been set at 40 thousand mt, including 29 thousand mt for supplies from the EU and 11 thousand mt from other countries; tariff quota volume for frozen beef has been set at 530 thousand mt, including 60 thousand mt each from the EU and the USA, 3 thousand mt from Costa Rica and 407 thousand mt from other countries.

The tariff quota for poultry meat and poultry products, fresh, chilled or frozen, has been set at 364 thousand mt, including 250 thousand mt - frozen domestic chicken halves or quarters, legs and chicken parts, frozen chicken meat supplies are limited to 100 thousand mt, including 80 thousand mt from the EU; frozen turkey meat and carcasses tariff quota volume is 14 thousand mt.

The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation should distribute the tariff quota volume between the importers by December 21, 2021. Licenses for meat imports in 2022 should be issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in December 24-31.
