Production and export of pigs in Russia continues to grow

For ten months of this year, 3.55 million metric tons of pork were produced in Russia

From January to October this year, pork production increased by 6.5% or by 215.9 thousand metric tons compared to the same period last year.

The main growth occurred due to enterprises of the Pskov, Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk regions and the Krasnodar Territory.

Also during the reporting period, pork exports increased. For the ten months of 2019, 76.6 thousand metric tons of this type of meat were exported compared to 67.5 thousand tons for the same period in 2018.
