Russia reports swine fever outbreak at one of Miratorg's sites

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has identified an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) on the territory of the Russian agricultural holding Miratorg in the Belgorod region, the service said on Monday.

"As a result of laboratory tests, the genetic material of the ASF virus was isolated (at the Miratorg Brodok-2 enterprise)," the authority said.

By order of the regional governor, a 5-kilometer quarantine zone was established on the territory of the Brodok-2 landfill.

The service carries out activities aimed at eliminating the epidemic.
