USDA starts issuing 1.75 billion agricultural producers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that it will begin issuing more than 1.75 billion in the form of emergency aid payments to farmers and livestock breeders. These much-needed payments are helping farmers and pastoralists recover from natural disasters in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

This week it will allocate more than 581 million in 2021 and 2022, to deal with drought and forest fire emergencies to ranch owners who meet the requirements.

The FSA is closing the animal husbandry Emergency Assistance Program (ELRP) due to damage caused in 2021. Payments of the second stage of ELRP are estimated at 115.7 million.
