U.S. Pork and Beef Featured at Regional Food Expo in Kazakhstan

The 24th Food Expo Qazaqstan brought 456 companies from 36 countries serving Central Asia to Almaty, Kazakhstan, earlier this month. Food security was the central theme for the show and a common topic of roundtable discussions and seminars, including one from the Eurasian Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In Kazakhstan, two workshops were conducted to demonstrate U.S. product quality, versatility and taste

USMEF representative Galina Kochubeeva was joined at USMEF booth by the agricultural attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Astana and USDA representatives from Almaty and Astana. They held discussions with importers about market opportunities in the Central Asian region for American pork, beef and other agricultural products.

Funding support was provided by the Beef Checkoff Program, the National Pork Board and USDA’s Market Access Program.
